Come Home by: Luminate

Your best friends with the word regret*
Your afraid that your life's been wasted
So why hope if it's only gonna let you down?
You don't think people really change
Your a mess and you'll always be the same
And you doubt if you'll ever get it turned around

So (I know) you've been running, searching for something
But you're looking in a place you don't belong
But it's never to late, you can't outrun grace
No, Mercy doesn't care what you've done
Come Home
(Oh, Oh, Oh Oh)
Come Home
(Oh, Oh, Oh Oh)

You can try to fix your broken empire
Put bricks on a cracked foundation
But you'll be building castles on the sand
There's power in the blood of Jesus
Your father's screaming Just Come Home!
He's reaching out His hands

From the shadows , From the wrong roads
From the darkness, From the unknown
To redemption, Something beautiful
To a new love, to new home

Come home! Everyday God stands at the door of your heart and knocks. Let Him in! Spend eternity with your Heavenly Father!

really think about it...

How many kings? By: Downhere

Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe after all we’ve projected
A child in a manger
Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliness hero, wrapped in his mothers shawl
Just a child
Is this who we’ve waited for?
Cause how many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Bringing our gifts for the newborn savior
All that we have whether costly or meek
Because we believe
Gold for his honor and frankincense for his pleasure
And myrrh for the cross he’ll suffer
Do you believe, is this who we’ve waited for?
It’s who we’ve waited for
How many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only one did that for me
All for me
All for you
All for me
All for you

What other gods/idols can/did do that???

Wimpy me

There is love that came for us
Humbled to a sinner's cross you broke my shame and sinfulness
you rose again victorious
Faithfulness none can deny
through the storm and through the fire
there is truth that sets me free
Jesus Christ who lives in me
You are stronger you are stronger
Sin is broken you have saved me
it is written Christ is risen
Jesus you are Lord of all
No beginning and no end
You're my hope and my defence
you came to seek and save the lost
you paid it all upon the cross
So let your name be lifted higher
Be lifted higher be lifted higher

Spiritually speaking on my own I am weak. Little wimpy Grace... That's me!! By myself I can't move mountains, heal people, or multiply anything. That is great news!

Y'all are probably thinking "say what?" Jesus doesn't show His power to the world by taking a body builder and have him lift 200 lbs. He does it by healing the blind and the sick.

You see it is through my weaknesses that His power is made perfect. I (on my own) am not good in front of crowds. (Ex. Those who heard me at church when I was in 7th grade know that. I sounded like a toy poodle standing next to a great Dane.) But when I hand my fear and weakness over to Christ He uses me to show how even I can be a tool for Him! (Ex. Since I have been growing in my faith more I have spoken in Moldova, WMU groups, and the youth group with out fear!)

That is just one of my MANY MANY MANY weaknesses. And quite frankly I am glad I have so many issues. It makes me depend on God more.

What are YOUR weaknesses? I dare you to hand them over to God and see what happens. Miracles do happen... But only if you let God perform them through you!

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  2 Corinthians 12:9

Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!

As she sat in the courtroom waiting for the judge's decision she recalled the incident that had happened. She thought about the lies and hurts that had taken place. She thought of how things she should have gone, How she would change her life if could, and was it ever really worth it. She couldn't look at the judge she knew what the result would be. She knew that she deserved everything that she had coming. She thought about how she had done this to herself. No one made her make the decisions she did. It was all her fault. After a few minutes of looking over what she had done the judge came to a conclusion... Guilty! I have decided that you are guilty of cheating, telling lies, disrespecting, gossip, hurting others, and many more sins! You have gone against my rules and are therefore can not be with me in paradise. I hereby send you to an eternity in a place of crying, burning, and gnashing of teeth. I am disappointed in you. This is not what i made you for. Right as the weeping girl is taken away someone runs into the courtroom. It's the judge's son! It's Jesus! After much deliberation the ultimate judge makes an announcement. My son tells me that you are innocent. That he has already taken your place when he died on the cross. The son points out the day of her salvation in the book. The judge exclaims, "Well done my good and faithful servant!" Jesus then proclaims that he has something to show the girl. He takes her away and as they walk up the staircase to paradise He shows her His scars. When they reach the top Jesus tells the guards to open the gates of pearl. They enter Heaven! While walking on streets made of gold He shows her His house and invites to come over anytime. Next to His is a place made just for her! He then gives her a robe of white and welcomes her too eternity with Him!

Where is your eternity?

16. Participate in Operation Christmas Child
17. Give a Bible away to someone on the side of the road
18. When see a person holding up a cardboard sign instead of giving them money have a meal with them
19. Always carry around a few extra water bottles to hand out to those in need
20. Sit next to someone who you don't like in your next worship service
21. Send letters of encouragement to your local government officials
22. Go down a row of cars at Walmart leaving little notes of encouragement

25. Ask your pastor if someone on your church's sick list would like a visit
26. Volunteer at your local soup kitchen once a month
27. Track to its source one item of food you eat regularly.  Then, each time you eat that food, pray for those folks who helped make it possible for you to eat it
28. Write your pastor a note of encouragement each week
29. Pick a country to prayer for everyday (switch every week)
30. Plant a tree
31. Carry some one's groceries for them
32. Go on a mission trip either in your city or country or even around the world

But always remember that...
A. In order to be radical for Christ you have to first spend time with Him in his word and through prayer.
B. The list doesn't end there! Keep having great ideas of how to glorify Him!

Have a blessed week,

YOU are the only...

If YOU were the only witness in the world... Would that change how you talked and/or acted??

If YOU were the only Christian in the world... Would you be more daring??

What if YOU REALLY were the only Christian in YOUR world? Really. What if everyone you ever came in contact with didn't know about the never ending love and care that comes from the one and only God? What if the only way they would know about Him was if YOU told them? What if I was being serious? Because some of y'all reading this really are the ONLY ones. Did you ever think about that? Everyone you see. Everyone you know. Everyone that lives and breathes. Might have never heard the word JESUS. Does that change your perspective?

Here is were it gets really hard to take. You CAN tell them. You CAN witness. You CAN show them Jesus! But do we share God's love with EVERYONE? The beggar on the roadside? The grocery clerk? The mean teacher? The best friend? The kid playing soccer across the road? The mother and baby waiting for a bus? The poor man with stinky breath and never-been-washed clothes? The bus driver? Maybe even the mother and father! God understands that teenagers have school. And that adults have jobs. But instead of watching tv or playing games think of all the brothers and sisters that could come to know our Lord and Savior! And if you are reading this and don't know him... NEVER be afraid to ask me via comment! I'd love to share the hope I have in my Lord!

Hope y'all think about this because... sadly... it is very true.

My Amazing SISTER!

You want to know how amazing she is??? Well she is just beyond awesome! Not convinced? Exhibit A: She helps with school when I don't understand school things. Still not convinced well exhibit B: She helps with underprivileged kids! What is sweeter than that!?! O! And in case you didn't know she is also a third grade GA leader! Know what else? She is the most selfless person I know. (or at least that comes to mind...) I love her and you should too! Don't forget to wish her a great Birthday Tuesday! (My sis is growing up so fast... *tear* just kidding) I LOVE YOU LAURA!!

Where would you??

If you could anywhere in the world where would you go?
Would you go to France and see the Eiffel Tower?
Spain maybe?
Would you go to Australia to see the Sydney Opera House?
What about Tokyo to see the sights?
If I could go anywhere I wouldn't go for the sights or the tourists type things. That's fun and great don't get me wrong. But if I could go anywhere in the world I'd probably go to.... India or Ethiopia. I think that India and Ethiopia would be a great place to spread God's love. I guess it's not just about the where. But it's also about the why.
Where would YOU go?? And why??

I always wondered why feet are so special. Don't get me wrong I love feet. I don't know what I would do without them. But they are stinky, smelly, dirty (a lot of the time), and yes sometimes even hairy. I remember distinctly almost 2 years ago I was at a retreat for 6th graders that were moving up to youth. (for church) We ran around outside and played a lot of games and we were all really nasty. Then one of the leaders made an announcement. "Let' play foot games!" (remember we were all nasty especially our feet.) We all slipped some socks on. And the object of the game was to be the last one with socks on. (so take everybody else's socks off.) Half the group took themselves out because they didn't want to be around the nasty feet. Another memory I have was a little over a month ago when I was on the mission trip we talked about washing the disciples feet. Jesus (played by Colt) washed a couple of the kids feet to show humility. (Some pretty nasty feet too...) The next day I was the tree in Zacchaeus. Ms. Becky told Paul that her plan was to put a kid on my shoulder to play Zacchaeus. Paul said, "Are you sure? Because the kid's feet will get dirt on you." Ya see people don't like being around feet usually. Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" We may not like feet but God made our feet to be beautiful! When we GO and tell others the good news of God's grace our feet are beautiful because we are using them the way God wants us to. God's plan truly is BEAUTIFUL. Now make your feet beautiful!! :)

Go! Go! Stop?

Most everyone debates on what God's purpose is for their lives. They wonder what they are supposed to be doing. Should they be feeding the hungry in Jackson? Should they be bringing water to the thirsty in Africa? Or maybe getting a good job and donating money. We wonder and ask pastors and deacons what are we supposed to be doing. Just a head's up, the only way to get the answer to the "what to do question" is to ask the one that knows everything! God made you for a purpose yes. That purpose is to glorify and honor HIM! And if all you do is go and do things then how is God going to be able to tell you what He wants? Go, Do, Be but don't forget to be still and talk with God and read His word.

In love with Him,

This may just be me... But I doubt it! I personally have always thought that being weak was bad. Some of y'all know, some don't but I was a HUGE gymnastics person. I was on teams, I did well, I loved it! (I got 1st place at state!) But it came to an end when I broke my ankle. Gym taught me so many things. One of them was to be strong physically and emotionally. You always had to put life aside and focus on gym. Put on a mask of determination. Be STRONG! It was definitely over pushed. But when I really think about it. Like REALLY think about it... God doesn't want us to be insensitive. He wanted us have feelings and we have a right to show them. Good and bad. Because it takes hitting rock bottom sometimes to finally turn to HIM. Jude 1:24 says "God is strong and can help you not to fall. He can bring you before the glory without any wrong in you and can give you great joy." HE is there for you. Waiting to be your strong hold because face it we are all weak. I leave y'all with this verse. 2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is enough for you. When you are WEAK my power is made perfect in you." So I am very happy to brag about my WEAKNESSES. Then Christ's power can live in me.

I think that as Christians we tend to say the word no a lot... No I don't want to wake up early on the weekend to work. No I don't want to witness to the stranger at the mall. No I don't want to be different I want to fit in. NO NO NO! We say no mostly because we think that if we stand out people won't like us. And sorry and I hate to break the news to you... But Jesus already told us that if we obey Him and do what He told us to do... People ain't gonna like us. They will make fun. They will be rude. They probably won't want to be around you. But that is what God wants you to do. "But God wants me to be happy..." Well in actuality God wants you to make HIM happy. See it really isn't about you... It is all about HIM! God doesn't need you. God can reach the world and feed the hungry and shelter the homeless etc. all on His own. But HE CHOSE to let you in on it. He is giving you an opportunity to REACH OUT. You can pass up the opportunity and be "cool". But that's passing up your reward in Heaven. Ya see God doesn't just ask you to do it... He rewards you in Heaven. You may not see the benefits now  but one day you will.

Some random encouragements!

Just a few good thoughts.

Sanctus Real
Lead Me (tweaked by me)

Lead me with strong hands
stand up when I can't
Don't leave me hungry for love,
Chasing things that I should give up
I'll show the world I'm willing to stand
Lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone

I don't know who originally said these. But they're good.

"Stand up for what is right. Even if you are standing alone."

"Reach for the moon. Because if you fall short you'll land on a star."

"Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God."

And this one I thought of while listening to Mr. Rob preach on a Sunday while in Moldova.

"I might not have a pillar of cloud leading me like the Israelites. But in the stormy times of life the clouds remind me that God is right here."

Hope y'all enjoyed these!

This week I dare you to be a salt shaker!(if you are confused reference Matthew 5:13-16 in the Bible)

In his love,
Grace *<:o)
